Hello friends. Let me share with you a little more of our time in Taupo

Our recent trip to Taupo was a delightful time of celebrations and lakeside adventures with family and friends, spanning six unforgettable days filled with laughter, love, and new experiences. From birthday festivities to exploring the natural beauty of the area, every moment was cherished and now etched into our memories.

Our adventure began with a stay at a fabulous “Book a Bach” for the first three nights. Contrary to its unrefined name, this accommodation was a spacious, modern haven perfectly suited for our family of eight. It served as our tranquil base camp for the first birthday celebration – that being none other than Bruce’s 65th milestone. Yes, that is the same Bruce mentioned in my previous post. The atmosphere was vibrant with familial warmth as we savoured precious moments together. Among the highlights were having both our grandsons with us adding an extra layer of joy to the festivities, making it a truly special occasion, and Sonya’s exhilarating parasailing adventure, adding an extra thrill-seeking moment to our time in Taupo.

We then transitioned to the Taupo Top Ten Holiday Park for the remaining three nights. Our focus then shifted to celebrating our oldest grandson’s second birthday. There he was surrounded by his immediate family and doting grandparents. The holiday park provided the perfect place for a fun-filled lead into the celebration, with its swimming pool, playground, and proximity to Lake Taupo.

During our stay, we immersed ourselves in the natural wonders of the region. Days were filled with adventures on the lake, leisurely rides along Taupo’s scenic bike trails, and explorations of the camp’s facilities. Whether it was soaking up the sun by the pool or embarking on new adventures, each day brought a fresh wave of excitement and discovery.

One of the highlights for our grandson, Cohen, was our daily trips to the charming children’s park area in the township. Watching his love for fearless exploring and his ”give it a go” attitude delivered cherished memories that will be treasured for years to come. After our adventures in the park, we’d often head to a nearby café for a coffee and fluffy, where Cohen’s eyes would light up with excitement as he sipped on his frothy treat, adding an extra touch of joy to our outings.

Reflecting on our time in Taupo, it’s clear that the essence of our journey lies not only in the places we visited but also in the precious moments shared with loved ones. From the intimate gatherings to the exhilarating adventures, every experience served to strengthen the bonds that unite us as a family.

As Sonya and I bid farewell to Taupo, moving on to our next destination on our six-day journey back home, we take with us the joy of the celebrations, the beauty of nature, and the warmth of cherished memories. Until we meet again, Taupo will hold a special place in our hearts as a destination filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
